The primary purpose of this position is always evolving but it provides support in the core of CPB’s finance team to assist with a broad range of finance and operations systems and staff.

The Opportunity

The FP&A team have a unique opportunity to influence behaviour and drive change across CPB Contractors with its exposure to almost all of CPB Contractors’ operational and finance systems and access to many of the businesses’ Project, Business Unit, Corporate, CIMIC and Asia management teams. You can expect regular interactions with CPB Contractors’ CFO.

Reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, the role of the Finance Analyst will be to:

  • Analyse data from the business’ ERP, BI and operational systems and develop meaningful insights for stakeholders across all levels (Projects, Business Unit, Corporate & CIMIC)
  • Build user friendly models to analyse Project and Business Unit performance. Examples include Risk and Opportunity scenarios, project ‘traffic light’ reporting and benchmarking, performance dashboards etc
  • To assist the FP&A Manager (FM) with process automation and systems integration and be able to develop and execute solutions with minimal supervision
  • Identify and promote cross-function data / information sharing. Partner with Corporate and Business Unit teams to provide insights and to ensure data is accurate, relevant and timely
  • Prepare Monthly and Quarterly FP&A management reports including results presentations, quarterly wrap-up reports, project dashboards / initiatives / strategies
  • Analysis of CPB’s pipeline of work and forecasting of Work In Hand
  • Advanced understanding of finance systems including JDE (ERP), Hyperion (Budgeting & Forecasting), FPM (Project Forecasting) and BI. Assist and train finance team members with using these systems
  • Develop and maintain business wide policies and procedures including, Quarterly Reporting submissions and other procedures impacting FP&A

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Degree qualified in Commerce / Business majoring in Accounting and/or Finance
  • CA / CPA qualification desirable but not mandatory
  • Minimum 2 years working in an FP&A / Business Partnering role or similar
  • Experience working in a large Construction / Engineering / Infrastructure / Property business
  • Broad Systems experience especially with BI platforms. Recent hands-on experience with BI/JDE an advantage but not mandatory
  • Advanced Excel and (user friendly) modelling skills
  • Ability to structure complex data from a variety of sources to develop insights for executive level management
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and automation not just in a Finance environment but at an operations / project level
