The CPB Contractors Dragados Samsung (CPBDS-JV) joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.9bn WestConnex New M5. The New M5 is the second stage of WestConnex and will run in twin tunnels between the existing M5 East at Kingsgrove and new interchange at St Peters, providing improved access to the airport, South Sydney and Port Botany precincts.

The Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) fit out scope includes: 

  • 4 surface motorway operations centres (MOC’s), ventilation stations, & prefabricated electrical equipment rooms (EER’s) installed in the tunnel cross passages
  • Installation of mechanical jet and axial fans
  • Five substations, water treatment plants, fire pump facilities & fire water tanks
  • Radio broadcast and tunnel communications systems
  • Tunnel electronic information systems and signage
  • HV/LV electrical installation
  • Fire deluge system installation

Based in one of our site office, this role will involve commercially managing all elements of our sub-contractors on a day to day basis, would suit someone who has had large project experience, in tunnelling, roads, oil or gas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Large M&E sub-contractor account management, including attending sub-contractor meetings, process assessment of works completed, variations and back charges
  • Management of accruals and site costs
  • Analyse and update cost to date and forecast cost to complete
  • Evaluate, process and negotiate contractual claims and payments
  • Proficient in commercial and contract systems including project costs reporting, asset registers and contract sum
