What can our construction projects build for you?

CPB contractors along with our partners Bam, Ghella and UGL have been selected as preferred proponent to deliver two major packages for the Cross River Rail Projects: the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) PPP package and the Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS) package.

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and the CBD. The TSD package to be delivered by the Pulse Consortium will deliver underground works and brownfield rail surface works, including:

  • Tunnel works from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills
  • Four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street
  • Rail surface works to enable the southern portal construction
  • A third platform at Dutton Park Station
  • Asset maintenance and facilities management of the tunnel and four underground stations.

The TSD package also includes an over-station development at Albert Street and an above-ground retail plaza at Roma Street in the Brisbane CBD.

Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Rail Delivery Manager, the Possession Coordination and Planning Engineer will sit within the project team. You will ensure effective and timely coordination and implementation of possession planning and programming functions required for the project, to assist in achieving the agreed project objectives.

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop and maintain a consolidated possession planning schedule in accordance with agreed Base Line Track Possession Schedule, ensuring all deadlines are identified and communicated to the responsible parties, and any identified risks to the successful delivery of the works are communicated in a timely manner to the Rail Delivery Manager
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining processes for program and progress reporting, including dissemination or processes and standards
  • Produce hour by hour programmes for each possession
  • Provide high level programming expertise, advice and reporting
  • Establish robust pre-possession readiness reviews with team, ensuring all Queensland Rail protocols are adhered to
  • Collate all required information and prepare possession Application Packs for submission to QR
  • Coordinate detailed monthly reviews of the project program with delivery teams and consolidate and compile project program reports
  • Ensuring compliance with the project’s policies, objectives and statutory requirements
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining processes for program and progress reporting, including dissemination or processes and standards
  • Maintaining productive relationships with the Project Team, client representatives, sub-contractors, consultants and the community

Minimum requirements for this role include the following:

  • Tertiary Qualification in related field
  • Previous experience in a similar role on a large construction project
  • Previous experience using either Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Proven understanding of possession management
  • Proven understanding of programme management, deadlines and budget controls
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully and autonomously within a fast paced project environment and deliver on deadlines
  • Hold proven verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholders
  • Focus and commitment to a zero harm environment
