Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Design & Engineering Manager and working with internal stakeholders as well as external clients and consultancies you will manage the design process at tender stage.

The Digital Engineering Lead is responsible for delivering a full model of the works (all removed, modified, and/or relocated temporary and new utility services) using 3D object oriented software in DGN format. 

As the Digital Engineering Lead, you will:

  • Responsible for BIM Management activities across the project in line with DEMP
  • Initiate, agree and implement the DEMP across the project and audit applications and process on a regular basis.
  • Work closely with the respective design and engineering managers to ensure that DE requirements are incorporated into the procurement of supply chain services
  • Facilitate site wide model federation activities including hosted and linked information
  • Conduct DE competency assessments of project stakeholders
  • Interrogate design information being developed to ensure it's robust, the appropriate format and sufficient quality for project acceptance
  • Ensure stakeholders comply with the Project DEMP
  • Support the WH&S effort through the model functionality to support project safety initiatives
  • Connect DE to the on-site activities through the site management team
  • Support the use of DE for site logistics and planning including making the model available to the design and construction teams (on a weekly basis) for the purposes of survey and set-out
  • Ensure data sourced from CAD and BIM origins can be adequately translated into GIS formats
  • Extract data from the models to contribute and support project reporting
  • Provide DE awareness and necessary training for project stakeholders where required
  • Ensure responsibilities and outputs are clearly communicated to projects stakeholders
  • Organise and chair Review Meetings
  • Review and manage Coordination, Interface and constructability issues
  • Provide support to Design and Engineering Management Team and design consultants

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated capability in Digital Engineering for infrastructure projects   
  • Demonstrated capability developing and supporting the integration of multiple
    complex BIM, CAD and GIS models
  • At least 5 years relevant project Digital Engineering experience
  • Experience in leading teams in complex utility design projects, documentation programming and review
  • Ability to influence and develop relationships at all levels
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
