Systems Connect (an unincorporated Joint Venture between CPB Contractors and UGL Engineering) is delivering the Line-wide Works (LW Works) package Sydney Metro City & Southwest (SMCSW) project, which will extend Sydney Metro Northwest to the CBD and beyond to Bankstown. SMCSW is being delivered through a suite of contracts for the tunnels, stations, line-wide infrastructure and systems.

We are currently recruiting for Expeditors to join our Logistics team. The role will be based at either one of our logistics hubs in Chatswood or Marrickville.

The Role

Reporting the Project Manager, you will be responsible for working closely with the logistic and construction teams on the project. Your responsibilities will include

  • Liaise with project delivery teams, construction sites, to ensure procured materials are received in line with the project schedule/required installation dates.
  • Ensure materials arrive at the warehouse accordingly to allow for distribution to sites.
  • Following SCLWW warehousing, logistics and procurement procedures and policies for management of all issues.  
  • Expedite flow of materials to and from project Construction sites.   
  • Foster positive relationships and ways of working with key suppliers ensuring continuous supply and prompt problem resolution to provide accurate and on time delivery of goods to the appropriate location.
  • Contribute to cost saving and continuous improvement initiatives by recommending more favourable suppliers/ terms/ delivery/ currency etc. where appropriate.  
  • Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements.
  • Undertake any ad-hoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Project Manager.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following

  • Proven experience working in a similar role on a major construction or infrastructure project
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, procurement, and inventory control methods
  • Ability and willingness to foster good relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders  
  • Experience using various software’s including JDE and Microsoft packages
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with safety at the forefront of everything you do
