Your opportunity 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join our project team based near Ararat, Victoria. Provide on-site engineering support to assist in the achievement of the required objectives of the project.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Engineer will sit within the project team and be accountable for:

  • Monitor key construction requirements and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure compliance with agreed specifications.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Oversee the verification of work conformity and quality requirements.
  • Maintain project documentation, records, and document control systems.
  • Manage temporary works design and secure all required approvals.
  • Ensure implementation of applicable Project Management Plans, procedures, and requirements.
  • Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Communicate relevant quality control requirements and applicable standards to all subcontractors and ensure compliance.

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Engineering qualification accredited under the Washington Accord, or an equivalent recognised tertiary or vocational qualification.
  • Graduate Membership with Engineers Australia (IEAust) or Engineering New Zealand (formerly IPENZ), or eligibility to obtain membership.
  • Demonstrated experience in the construction, upgrade, rehabilitation, or maintenance of highways, roads, bridges, and associated civil infrastructure.
  • Sound knowledge of highway construction methodologies, pavement design and rehabilitation, earthworks, drainage systems, traffic management, and road safety requirements.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, contract documentation, and applicable industry standards.
  • Proven ability to coordinate site activities, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality requirements.
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian and/or New Zealand engineering standards, environmental requirements, and health and safety regulations.
  • Strong technical, problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to manage multiple project priorities in a site-based environment.
