About the role

We are seeking an experienced Administrator, Health, Safety & Training to join the Thiess HS&T team at Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex.

Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located south-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure.

Working a 5/2/4/3 roster and reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, your duties will include:

  • Providing day-to-day administrative support to the HS&T Manager, Coordinators and Advisors
  • Maintain relevant Health, Safety, and Training records and reports as directed by the team
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure the achievement of key safety objectives
  • Assist the HS&T team with the compilation and presentation of monthly reporting requirements, including data management within the Thiess Safety Management System
  • Build strong working relationships with internal team members and external stakeholders
  • Maintain the site Training Calendar and assist with scheduling and course bookings
  • Troubleshoot LMS access and training record issues for employees and contractors, providing guidance on onboarding processes and qualification requirements
  • Upload and manage training materials, records, and documentation in accordance with Thiess and legislative standards.
  • Assist Training Coordinators with onsite inductions, preparing documentation, recording attendance, and uploading completed induction records into the LMS and SharePoint.

About you

  • High level of organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience in an Administration role, ideally within the mining or construction industry
  • A genuine passion and knowledge of Health, Safety, and/or Training will be highly regarded
  • Proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel
  • Drive safety, culture, and productivity in a team environment
  • Working towards or holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) is advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (data management, pivot tables, power queries and reporting).
  • Experience with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
