The Project

With this iconic project at the halfway stage, we are offering interested civil engineers the opportunity to learn from the best in the industry and develop rewarding careers with a rapidly growing company.

The Transmission Gully Project involves the construction of a new highway through challenging terrain that will require approximately 6 million cubic metres of earthworks, significant stream diversions and vegetation clearing. The Project works include 27 kilometres of 4-lane motorway in a single road corridor, 3 grade-separated interchanges, 2 grade-separated connections, and 28 separate bridge and underpass structures.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking two Project Engineers: One with earthworks / detail / pavement experience. Two with slope stabilisation work and ideally but not a must is experience in rock bolt / soil nail.

Overall, we seek someone who is very good at managing large subcontractor packages and also undertake cost control, estimating, budgeting, planning / programming as required.

As Project Engineer, you will also be responsible for assisting Senior members of the project team achieve optimum production and cost outcomes on the day-to-day running of the Project. Achieving optimum production and cost outcomes by managing the day-to-day running of projects, including workforce management, in a healthy and safe work environment.

Minimum requirements for this role include:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working on civil construction projects, ideally working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractors
  • Demonstrated experience applying engineering principles to comply with scope of works and technical criteria
  • Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering

As the successful candidate you will need to be a self-starter who is highly motivated, well organized and committed to the highest possible work standards. You will also have the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and subcontractors.
