We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our AIAL Taxiway Mike & RSS2 team. Reporting to the General Superintendent, responsibilities will include:

Contribute to the delivery of project on time and within budget through:

  • Ensure that all works are being performed safely and within the quality/standard guidelines.
  • Reporting any discrepancies in quality, safety or scope to the line managers and stopping works where appropriate.
  • Continuously oversee work, analyse production methods and production performance
  • Head and direct the workforce, including sub-contractors, in the construction of the works
  • Monitoring performance and re-assessing efficiency, taking appropriate correct action where necessary
  • Assessing activities, ensuring a balance between cost and production to meet objectives and time constrictions
  • Assist in the development of project instructions
  • Understanding contractual obligations of CPB and subcontractors
  • Application of all site safety, environmental and electrical requirements under CPB and AIAL policies
  • Ensure the whole electrical installations will meet AS/NZS 3000 and all other relevant standards, that are required to complete the scope of work in a tradesman and professional manner
  • Ensure all standards and regulations are implemented through team members and sub-contractors
  • Ensure all required documentation, reports, pre-starts, toolboxes, alterations and site requirements are delivered to the required standards and on time
  • Have a clear knowledge of site drawings, execution and conceptual understanding of the requirements.
  • Deliver timely completion of electrical installation and scope in preparation for pre-commissioning / commissioning

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Minimum 5 years practical experience
  • Will have completed an electrical apprenticeship and gained appropriate national training certificates (Level 4) in electrical engineering in the mining or industrial sectors.
  • Holds an existing NZ electrical trade certificate with active licence or an approved transferable licence from an NZ registered overseas certification.
  • Working knowledge on electrical and instrumentation installations, particularly Airfield Ground Lighting works (AGL)
  • Knowledge of underground H/V L/V and Fibre optic cable installation & jointing, terminations and testing; and
  • Knowledge of site drawings and specifications, application, execution, completion on program, forward look ahead and scope of works
