About the Project

The Monash Freeway is in Melbourne’s fast growing south east and outer south-east region and the $761M design and construct project will expand the Monash from eight to 10 lanes slashing nearly ten minutes off the morning peak hour commute and better connect the Monash to Eastlink.

Works include the addition of 36 kilometres of new lanes to the Monash Freeway, upgrading the Beaconsfield interchange with new freeway ramps, the extension and widening of O’Shea Road and the roll out of the Freeway Lane Management System to better manage traffic flows.

Construction is scheduled to start in early 2020 and be completed in 2022.

Your Opportunity

We are currently seeking applications from Document Controllers to manage various aspects of document control, including the receipt, retrieval and circulation of documents, review coordination, external submission and distribution control. The documents may include design documentation, confidentiality agreements, various instruction, and reports on safety, quality and the environment.

As Document Controller, you will be accountable for:

  • Implement Project Document Management System and processes
  • Ensure document submissions are in accordance and compliant with the project document formats and requirements
  • Maintain a correspondence system
  • Implement workflows and collate, issue and receive documents in accordance with project requirements for the development, review and approval of design documentation and all other procedures, instructions, product certification and records that are subject to review and approval
  • Record document flow to and from all necessary parties, including clients, sub-contractors and the project office
  • Record issues and track location of control documents and drawings
  • Issue letters and receipts concerning the documents in circulation
  • Ensure current versions are maintained of all documents subject to revision and ensure current versions of documents are issued to required project parties
  • Storage and archiving of project and organisational records
  • Work with team members and ensure compliance with systems, procedures and processes
  • Ensure the documents are managed in strict confidentiality

Requirements for this role are:

  • Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent experience in Business or Administration
  • 2-5 years’ experience in document control preferably within the construction industry
  • Experience in document management systems
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Records management
  • Knowledge of project management systems and processes Experience in project environment or equivalent industry
