Your Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Traffic Engineer to join the North East Link Early Works team.  You will be based in the Heidelberg project office, however the role will work across a number of zones in the eastern and north eastern suburbs of Melbourne.  

Due to the numerous and diverse range of packages, you will have exposure to roads upgrades, services protection and relocations, buildings construction and facilities upgrades.

As a Traffic Engineer you will be accountable for:

  • Assist the effective set-up, delivery and completion of the project including establishing relevant systems
  • Assist in the completion of the project to ensure program, budget, quality, environmental and contractual obligations are achieved and taking prompt corrective action where required
  • Ensure timely delivery of traffic impact assessments and analysis with a value for money focus.
  • Review design and construction plans, schedules, temporary works designs, method statements and job safety analysis and quality
  • Manage traffic scheduling programs
  • Prepare accurate reports/presentations for Client and Councils including Traffic Management Liaison Group monthly meetings
  • Assist project team members to deliver the required outputs to agreed specifications
  • Driving work progress and completion under set project targets
  • Leading and mentoring Site Engineers and Graduates
  • Working closely with other functions (planning, procurement etc.)
  • Driving a safety culture through effective supervision and implementation of standards, training and procedures

Our minimum requirements for these roles are:

  • Either a recognised degree in engineering discipline OR other relevant tertiary qualification (TAFE or similar)
  • 2-3 years experience with traffic management and traffic control plans/staging
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience in successfully delivering large work packages
