The Project
CPB Contractors, as part of a joint venture with United Group, has been selected to deliver the surface civil and alignment works for the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport rail link between Orchard Hills and the new Western Sydney Airport Station.
This $600M project encompass the civil infrastructure necessary for the construction of the track which includes:
• 3.4 kms of elevated viaduct at Orchard Hills and Luddenham
• 6.7kms of earthworks for track formation
• A 190M long rail bridge over the new M12 motorway
• A 20m long bridge within the Airport
• Temporary and permanent roads
• Bulk Earthworks for the stabling and maintenance facility site.
The SCAW project will provide the platform for future track, new stations and various temporary and permanent roads that will connect Western Sydney Airport to the surrounding suburbs and ultimately to the entire NSW rail network. Works are scheduled to commence in the second half of 2022 and be completed in 2024
The opportunity

To support the above project CPB has set up a Precast facility in Buchanan near Newcastle.

We require an experienced Safety Advisor to support the Safety Manager on site.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Provide a responsive safety leadership service to the yard and team
• Audit & enforce standards to ensure the yard complies with legislation & company standards
• Build & maintain productive internal and external relationships
• Implementation of safety improvement systems
• Manage safety and emergency response plans for the yard
• Ensure activities observed are carried out in accordance with the Safety policy and procedures
• Lead, manage and provide training to the teams in relation to Safety and Health
• Mentor the team on Safety essentials and SHE culture framework implementation and maintenance.
• Oversee incident management reporting and investigation for the project
• Chair and attend Safety Forums and Safety Committee meetings
• Undertake critical incident investigations as required by the Project
• Maintain project audit schedule understand and implement WHS policies, procedures and legislative requirements
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements (OFSC) by keeping abreast of obligations, taking appropriate actions and supporting the implementation of preventive strategies
• Maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders through professional conduct
