Administrator – Distribution Department
Are you the kind of person who thrives on keeping things running smoothly, solving problems on the fly, and making sure every moving part works like clockwork? The West Australian is looking for a Distribution Administrator who’s as comfortable with spreadsheets as they are with people.
This is not your average admin job. Based at our bustling Osborne Park Print Site, you’ll be the linchpin between our newspaper production team and over 200+ independent contractors across WA. You'll juggle logistics, compliance, contractor relationships, and reporting — all while making sure our papers, magazines and promotional products hit doorsteps and shelves on time, every time.
About Us: Seven West Media is Australia’s leading news, sports, and entertainment brand. Our team connects with millions of Western Australians daily through Channel Seven, The West Australian, The Sunday Times, thewest.com.au, PerthNow, 7plus, The Nightly and thegame.com.au. We’re a diverse, innovative, and collaborative team that loves what we do—and we want you to be part of it!
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the go-to support for our state-wide network of 200+ delivery contractors
- Keep tabs on performance, contracts, compliance, and budgets
- Own our distribution data — from managing returns audits to late paper compensation
- Use your Excel skills to generate smart reports and drive real insights
- Keep our West Network website up to date and running smoothly
- Resolve delivery hiccups and customer concerns with confidence
- Hit the road occasionally to visit distributors and spot opportunities for improvement
- Ensure safety and transport regulations are being followed (Chain of Responsibility included)
- Collaborate across teams to help drive new revenue streams and continuous improvement
What You Bring:
- Strong Excel and admin skills – pivot tables, data analysis, and all that good stuff
- You’re confident, assertive, and not afraid to deal with challenging conversations
- Calm under pressure and proactive in finding smart solutions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A self-starter with strong time management and attention to detail
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 15kg
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- A valid driver’s license (field visits are part of the job)
Why You Will Love Working Here?
- Work with Western Australia’s leading media company – no media background required!
- Fantastic Facilities: Osborne Park location with an onsite café, free gym, and parking.
- Perks Galore: Salary sacrifice, paid parental leave, and an employee perks program.
- A vibrant, creative culture where your ideas and energy will be valued.
- Flexibility in a high-performance but relaxed, friendly environment.
- Exciting opportunities for personal growth in an exciting company.
If you’re ready to bring your skills to a vibrant production team, we’d love to hear from you.
