What does the job look like?

This is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end delivery of payroll services across Linfox’s Australian operations.

You will lead a high-performing payroll team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles; while driving compliance, process improvement and strategic outcomes aligned to Group Finance.

More broadly, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day payroll function across multiple business units.
  • Ensure full compliance with Federal & State legislation (STP, taxation, super).
  • Oversee payroll reconciliations, statutory reporting and audit readiness.
  • Partner closely with Finance, HR, Industrial Relations and IT stakeholders.
  • Manage escalations and resolve complex payroll issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including automation and simplification.
  • Support major payroll projects (e.g. system enhancements, data integrity, new contracts).
  • Deliver insights and reporting across the business.

This is a highly visible role within Shared Services, providing exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence payroll strategy across Linfox.

Are you the one?

You are a proven payroll leader with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally in a complex, fast-paced environment.

You will bring:

  • Degree qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading payroll within large, complex organisations.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP payroll systems and processes (or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing Payroll teams.
  • Deep understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation capability with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proven track record delivering process improvements, automation or efficiencies.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build strong cross-functional relationships.
