ACU is committed to the significant growth of research in philosophy so as to make it one of the major areas of research at this University. It recently established the Dianoia Institute of Philosophy dedicated to research in analytic philosophy.
We are currently recruiting Research Fellows and Senior Research Fellows and now invite applications for positions of Professor and Associate Professor. We seek scholars who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in any central area of contemporary philosophical research in the analytic tradition, including ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, logic, history of philosophy, philosophy of mind, language, religion, and science, social, political and legal philosophy, and aesthetics. Successful applicants will work collegially and collaboratively to build their own research profiles of high-quality publications, and contribute to team projects.
The Professors and Associate Professors appointed to these positions will have a primary focus on research, but some teaching of graduate students may be part of the role, and they may elect to teach undergraduate courses subject to agreement of the Institute Director.
A publicly-funded University and inclusive community with 35,000 students across multiple campuses in Australia and one in Rome, ACU welcomes people of all beliefs.
Remuneration: Professor and Associate Professor: negotiable and will include 17% employer superannuation contribution. In addition, the roles attract a generous research allowance. The starting dates for appointees are open to negotiation.
*Note: These positions are not fixed-term but continuing, which, in the Australian context, means that they can continue until such time as the staff member resigns or retires. Please consult us if you need further information
