About the role: We’re seeking an experienced and technically strong Network Security Engineer to support the ownership of our network security infrastructure. You’ll be responsible to support the designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable connectivity solutions across our enterprise, helping ensure that critical systems and users remain protected from cyber threats—without compromising performance.

This is a key role within a growing cyber function, working closely with the Senior Network Security Engineer to support cloud, server, and security teams to deliver highly available, compliant, and secure network services.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, build, and manage secure connectivity solutions including VPNs, firewalls, cloud gateways, and application delivery technologies.
  • Perform system administration and maintenance of connectivity platforms and network security infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage security protocols, vulnerability assessments, and continuous monitoring across all connectivity services.
  • Deliver internal and external connectivity services in line with SLAs and IT Service Management frameworks.
  • Create and maintain network and platform roadmaps to support business evolution.
  • Lead the development and testing of Disaster Recovery (DR) plans for connectivity solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Provide user training and support on secure connectivity practices.
  • Partner with technical teams to ensure efficient and secure integrations across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Respond to security incidents, maintain incident readiness tools, and support remediation activities.
  • Participate in post-incident reviews and implement improvements to harden infrastructure.
  • Fulfil on-call responsibilities as part of a rotating team roster.
About you:
  • Tertiary qualification in IT, Networking, Engineering, or a related field (mandatory).
  • One or more relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CCNP, CCIE, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or vendor certifications in Palo Alto, CheckPoint, F5, or Cisco (mandatory).
  • 3+ years’ experience in network security roles within large enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in designing and managing next-generation firewalls and secure networking solutions.
  • Demonstrated skills in Cisco switching/routing and Meraki technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure networking, API security, and VPN gateway configuration.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, iRule) to support automation and integration.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to work across teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, deception technologies, and secure administration across Windows/Linux/Azure environments (preferred).
