About the role: We are seeking a Technical Trainer – Logistics to deliver high-quality training and assessment services that support the skill development and competency maintenance of operational employees and contractors focusing on Port, Rail Terminal and Minesite operations. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with industry standards and fostering a culture of safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical and non-technical training and assessment services to employees as required.
  • Recommend remedial training strategies to address learner challenges.
  • Travel to remote locations to provide coaching, training, and assessment when required.
  • Conduct ongoing recertification assessments for operational staff.
  • Provide in-field instruction and coaching for trainees.
  • Assist in the design, development, evaluation, and review of accredited and non-accredited competency-based training programs.
  • Support innovation in training delivery methods and optimise resources for enhanced learning experiences.
  • Complete and submit training documentation in compliance with organisational processes.
  • Participate in validation and moderation activities for assessments.
  • Contribute to investigations by providing guidance within your area of expertise.
  • Engage in professional development to maintain competency.

We’re looking for someone with:

Essential:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (working towards or prepared to obtain this qualification).
  • Qualifications and experience in the operation of various equipment as found in Terminals, Ports and Mine sites.
  • Experience in freight rail or logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Safeworking rules and operational standards

Desirable:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a qualified workplace trainer and assessor.
  • Familiarity with electronic training systems and simulation equipment.
  • Competent in Microsoft 365 applications.
