As a Senior Training Advisor, you will provide subject matter expertise to implement and deliver our training governance framework, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory and operational requirements across a complex, safety-critical environment.

About the role:

This role is responsible for driving the delivery of enterprise-wide learning and development systems, frameworks and governance. You will partner with leaders and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality training solutions that support safe, compliant and high-performing operations.

This role will see you:

  • Implement and maintain learning and development systems, frameworks and governance aligned to enterprise risk, legislative obligations and licensing requirements
  • Coordinate and deliver technical and safety training programs with a strong focus on compliance and assurance
  • Provide expert advice to support training and safety-related change, including workforce planning, forecasting and stakeholder engagement
  • Support delivery of strategic learning initiatives and continuous improvement programs aligned to the safety strategy
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external Registered Training Organisation (RTO) requirements and Enterprise Training Standards
  • Maintain trainer and assessor currency, including accurate and up-to-date training records and evidence
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and implement effective learning systems and processes
  • Coach and mentor leaders and safety professionals on training requirements and legislative obligations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About you: 

You are a proactive and experienced learning professional with strong governance, compliance and stakeholder engagement capability. You thrive in complex environments and are passionate about improving safety and capability outcomes.

  • Demonstrated experience in learning and development systems, governance and processes (mandatory)
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a related field (mandatory)
  • Degree-level qualification (preferred)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) (preferred)
  • Experience with relevant learning or HR systems (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian Quality Training Framework
  • Understanding of organisational development and vocational training principles
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to design, develop and facilitate high-quality learning solutions
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and change management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management capability
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and continuous improvement practices
