About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Network Asset Management, the Manager Asset Standards and Governance will play a pivotal role in transforming how asset governance, assurance and performance management are delivered across the Central Queensland Coal Network. You will lead the design and implementation of contemporary governance frameworks, operating models and assurance practices that improve asset performance, strengthen risk management and enable more efficient, data-driven decision making.

 You will set and provide the direction for standards, ensuring alignment to industry best practice and business objectives, and you will drive accountability for consistent compliance and performance outcomes. 

This role will drive a program of governance transformation, embedding modern standards, streamlined processes and a culture of continuous improvement. You will challenge traditional ways of working, identify opportunities to improve governance effectiveness and lead sustainable change that delivers measurable business outcomes. You will oversee compliance and assurance activities, governance effectiveness, and lead ongoing refinement to ensure the framework remains practical, scalable and fit for purpose in a dynamic operating environment. 

• Lead the transformation and ongoing optimisation of asset governance frameworks, ensuring they remain scalable, practical and aligned to future business needs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that simplify processes, improve compliance outcomes and enhance operational efficiency.
• Review and modernise governance, assurance and risk management practices to support evolving regulatory, operational and commercial requirements.
• Partner with senior leaders to embed new ways of working and strengthen governance capability across the network.
• Leverage data, insights and assurance outcomes to identify opportunities for improved asset performance and informed decision making.
• Champion a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement across the asset management function.

You are an experienced transformation leader who enjoys challenging the status quo and delivering meaningful organisational change. You bring a strategic mindset, balancing governance, risk and commercial outcomes while building the capability, systems and processes required to support long-term business performance. You build trust and alignment with ease, using your influencing and negotiation skills to bring senior stakeholders on the journey, even in complex environments. 

You have successfully led complex transformation, governance or operational improvement initiatives within large, asset-intensive organisations. You thrive in environments where you can influence change, align diverse stakeholders and deliver sustainable improvements that create lasting business value. 

• Tertiary qualification (mandatory)
•  Experience driving governance, risk or asset management transformation programs within a large, complex organisation (preferred)
• Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or equivalent from other jurisdictions (mandatory)  
• Lean or 6Sigma awareness or experience (preferred)  
• Awareness or experience working with or maintaining operating models (preferred)
