Location: Acacia Ridge
Aurizon is seeking a qualified Locomotive Driver to join our Bulk team based in Acacia Ridge. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of Australia’s largest rail freight operator and play a key role in supporting the movement of freight across the national rail network.

About the role:
As a Locomotive Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of freight services while maintaining the highest safety and operational standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and marshalling.
- Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
- Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of on-time running.
- Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
- Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon’s safety strategy “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe”.
- Must be available to work a 24/7 shift roster.
- Experience working in any of the following Safe Working systems an advantage: NSW & Qld
- Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience
- A Certificate IV in Rail Operations (or equivalent)
- Route Qualifications for Acacia Ridge to Taree and Maryborough (Highly Desired)
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence
