Aurizon has an exciting opportunity for a Yard Planner to join the team in Adelaide. In this role, you will coordinate train crew and yard operations to support the productive and cost-effective deployment of resources, maintain strong customer service outcomes and ensure planned train service and maintenance activities are delivered on time. You will also oversee day-to-day rollingstock movements and monitor day-of-operations changes to keep yard activities aligned to the daily and forecast schedule.

About the role:

• Direct and manage the allocation, utilisation and deployment of production resources to ensure disciplined execution of the yard plan.
• Develop, implement and manage processes, systems and procedures that reduce above rail factors impacting supply chain performance and the daily schedule.
• Support the knowledge, skills and capability of the team, ensuring goals and objectives are clear, current, measurable and aligned to business targets.
• Provide advice, coaching and support to operational employees to help achieve performance objectives, promote high-performing teams and support continuous improvement.
• Ensure business activities and employees within the role’s area of control comply with legislative obligations, company policies, standards and procedures.

About you

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management, or equivalent, is preferred.
• Previous line leadership experience in a large-scale logistics or heavy industrial organisation is preferred.
• Previous experience in planning or operations is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team, in a day-of-operations environment.
• Demonstrated experience working with key stakeholders to deliver value to the customer.
• Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• High level communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and succinct verbal and written information.
• Demonstrated ability using computers and the Microsoft Office Suite.
