An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative Sous Chef to join EPICURE based at the Taronga Centre, Taronga Zoo.
In this role, you will be responsible for the successful development and production of menus across all function venues at Taronga. You will report directly into the Head Chef and will collaborate with him on new menu ideas. A hands-on role overseeing the reopening of the function centre and overseeing the new state of the art functions kitchen
About the Role:
•Responsibility for delivering of high quality food for the site
•Following of EPICURE food safety standards, policies and procedures
•Pro-active and efficient service delivery, which anticipates and accommodates client needs
•Development of strong and ongoing relationships with the team and stakeholders
•Attend meetings and where requested, prepare and present individual activities and progress
•Maintain thorough venue and product knowledge and an understanding of the EPICURE service standards and philosophies to ensure clear communication with clients
•Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Sydney venue and events market and key competitors
Requirements and Experience:
•You are passionate about the Food and Beverage industry
•Passion for providing excellent customer service at every point of contact
•You are a result focused individual, ready to meet the challenges of ambitious budgets
•Strong negotiation skills, which are resilient and determined
•You can work independently yet are a team player focused on achieving goals and meeting targets
•You have outstanding attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
•You are supportive of your fellow team members and ready to help whenever it is needed
•Minimum 2-year experience in hotels, or large venues in Sous Chef is essential
