Join our Zero Harm team in part time, permanent role based in either Melbourne VIC within our Health and Education business. 

The hands-on position of Zero Harm Advisor will actively lead and ensure on-going compliance with statutory obligations whilst mitigating across Victorian Schools and Hospitals contracts. The role will contribute to the continual improvement to Downer's Integrated Management System (IMS) and associated programs.


Exposure in Facilities Maintenance, will be highly regarded as will the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships with both operational and management personnel to achieve best outcomes. You will also possess;

Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent. A QSA auditor certificate and/or training & assessment qualifications would be highly advantageous
The ability to monitor, facilitate and lead when required incident investigations, including leading ICAM investigations for serious incidents
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to evaluate and implement Zero Harm policies and procedures and ensure compliance
Understanding and experience with critical risk programs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence at various business levels.
Confident computer and data analysis skills, performance monitoring, report collation and presentation skills
Ability to think strategically, considering both corporate and local objectives/drivers
Ability to conduct audits; investigations of safety issues and assist in developing improvement plans based on findings
The ability to travel as required
Demonstrated ability to develop Zero Harm improvement plans to drive and promote proactive safety awareness programs
Prior experience with managing return to work programs in consultation with line management; liaison with Injury Management Team and providing guidance to Managers
Confidence in providing advice to stakeholders on effective critical risk management practices, including the identification, analysis and control of hazards and critical risks
Supporting the implementation of, and monitor compliance and understanding with, Zero Harm management systems (i.e. policies, procedures and standards)
