About the role:

AE SMITH, a division of Spotless Group, delivers technical and engineering services covering mechanical services, building construction, onsite power, energy efficiency and building services solutions throughout New Zealand.

As the HVAC Service Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation and financial performance of the service division strategies (budgeting, forecasting and business plans). Reporting to the National Manager, you will develop, implement, and monitor business plans, reporting on strategic outcomes whilst overseeing staff administration and key customer relationships. Your other responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Administer contracts to ensure appropriate service delivery, completion of all necessary documentation, and generation of appropriate Gross Profit
  • Provide regular business reporting to the National Manager
  • Implement effective work practices to achieve set goals, and communicate agreed practices throughout the Service Team
  • Manage and promote Human Resource responsibilities, including leadership and delegation, performance management, staff wellbeing and morale, engagement and termination, and succession planning in accordance with Company Policy
  • Ensure that safe work practices are implemented and maintained by all service, project, subcontractor and supplier personnel at all times to ensure a ZH outcome

 About you:

You will be a proactive, authentic, and visible leader with strong analytical and numeric skills. You will also bring with you:

  • Relevant trade qualifications with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Commercially astute.
  • An ability to interpret data and contracts and make decisions based on evidence.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Ownership, commitment and an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy including MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must hold a current full driver’s license.
