The Role 

The Category Manager is responsible for developing the Annual Category and Subcategory Plans for the Innovation and Technology (IT) category in support of the Strategic Sourcing Plan to achieve the required savings expectations.

The Category Manager is responsible for developing the Annual Category and Subcategory Plans for the Innovation and Technology (IT) category in support of the Strategic Sourcing Plan to achieve the required savings expectations. The Category managed by the Category Manager will generally contain contracts representing medium risk to SA Power Networks and Enerven. 

This role forms part of the IT Procurement Team based at 1 Richmond Road, Keswick. It is desirable that applicants have experience in, or knowledge of, sourcing specifically in the IT industry.

This opportunity is being offered by way of fixed term (12 months) .

 

Requirements 

To be successful in this role you will have advanced strategic sourcing skills as well as highly developed category management, supplier relationship management and negotiation skills. Project Management expertise is a must as well as be able to lead and influence a large and diverse set of internal and external stakeholders. You will have advanced skills in data and financial analysis and have a strategic and innovative mind-set. 

 

Other criteria include: 

  • Degree in Procurement and/or the equivalent level of skills and knowledge gained through experience 
  • Member Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) (prepared or in the process of obtaining membership status) 
  • Required to work outside normal working hours on occasions to meet key targets 
  • May be required to travel intra/interstate 

 

Candidates will need to be prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical.
