The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Research Manager to join the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (SPHPM) within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science (MNHS) on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be reporting directly to The School Manager, SPHPM and will be asked to utilise senior-level, specialist knowledge to oversee and deliver high-quality services to support the diverse research portfolio of the school. This position will be an essential conduit between researchers and the University and will aim to link programs to business development and funding bodies within agreed timeframes and work to achieve strategic business outcomes.

This can include:

  • Overseeing, developing and managing new School-wide initiatives related to research
  • Manage a research administration program which may include providing expert advice on, developing and contributing to; papers for publication, research or technical procedures, policy development, grant applications, reports, literature reviews, data analysis and supporting patenting, copyright or licensing activity
  • Managing and developing a highly trained, motivated and efficient research services and administrative team
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key project stakeholders and undertaking networking to support project objectives
  • Maintaining an up-to-date specialist and technical knowledge of new and innovative research funding and development opportunities, equipment, technology and data management

This position is suited to a highly motivated individual who holds postgraduate qualifications or progresses towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; and/or has extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Additionally, the successful candidate will ideally have excellent project management skills, demonstrate analytical and conceptual skills and undertake research, analyse data and identify trends and opportunities.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
