About Monash Faculty of Information Technology

The only faculty dedicated to IT out of the prestigious Group of Eight (Go8), we’re widely renowned for excellence and innovation in research and education.

Geared for social good, we’re also strong advocates for equity, diversity and inclusion in every form and we actively champion women in IT – leading the way when it comes to the gender equity principles of the Athena SWAN Charter.

So when you work with us, you can be sure that you’re in an organisation that truly supports your success through continual development and growth opportunities and support for parents, carers, mental and physical health, wellbeing and more. These include family insurance, private parenting facilities, easily accessible and ongoing training and leadership programs in teaching and research – and dedicated groups like the STEMM Women Academic Network.

On the research front, our expertise is strategically aligned to three departments: Data Science and AI, Human-Centred Computing and Software Systems and Cybersecurity.

We’re home to one of  the largest AI and data science research groups in the southern hemisphere,  a global top 10 human-centred computing collective, and the leading software engineering team in the Asia-Pacific – on top of cybersecurity pioneers driving world-first cryptocurrencies and blockchains.
