The Opportunity

The Department of Banking and Finance, Monash Business School, Melbourne, Australia, is seeking to recruit top academic faculty to tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor (Lecturer or Senior Lecturer) level, starting July 1, 2025. 

We are seeking faculty who will produce outstanding research in finance as well as having a commitment to quality teaching.

Applicants should possess or be near completion of a PhD in finance.

About the Department of Banking and Finance

The Department of Banking and Finance has recruited from top universities worldwide and has developed a vibrant research culture. Monash University was ranked 25th in the world in Finance in the 2023 ARWU (Shanghai) Global Academic Subject Ranking. The Department comprises over 55 academic staff engaging in teaching and research in asset pricing, banking, behavioural and household finance, corporate finance, derivatives, financial institutions, and market microstructure. We have first-class research resources and infrastructure, including a research database manager, an extensive set of databases and an excellent seminar and brown bag series.  Generous research support is provided via an internal funding scheme that facilitates conference participation, research assistance and computing hardware/software purchases.
