The Opportunity
Join the ARC Centre of Excellence in Optical Microcombs for Breakthrough Science (COMBS) as a Research Fellow and contribute to pioneering research on microcomb-based optical communication systems. This 7-year, $70M-funded research initiative spans 8 Australian universities and collaborates with academic and industrial partners across Asia, Europe, and North America.
We are looking for two Research Fellows for positions in optical Communications and Photonic circuits.
- The first position is probing the capacity limits of microcombs, and in utilising correlations between comb lines to drive efficient optical communications systems.
- The second position will focus on working with self-calibrating photonic-chip designs to achieve signal processing functions, including data from scientific instruments based on optical microcombs.
As a Research Fellow, you will lead cutting-edge projects, working closely with your supervisor, mentoring HDR students, and collaborating within the COMBS network. Your research will focus on exploring the capacity limits of microcombs and utilizing correlations between comb lines to drive efficient optical communication systems.
This position offers the opportunity to achieve traditional research outcomes (e.g., publications) while enhancing the capabilities of the COMBS network. COMBS is dedicated to supporting early career researchers and promoting their contributions to world-leading research.
Be part of a transformative research initiative and help shape the future of optical communications!
