The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Lecturer to lead the development and integration of our state-of-the-art recording studio, the Digital Hub, into all facets of our School’s operations. This pivotal role will encompass Education, Research, and Engagement, ensuring the Digital Hub enhances every stream within our Bachelor of Music (BMus) program, including Classical Performance, Composition and Music Technology, Jazz & Improvisation Performance, and Popular Music.

The Senior Lecturer will be responsible for leading the development and embedding of the Digital Hub into the School’s Education, Research, and Engagement activities. They will teach Creative Music Technology across all elements of the BMus program and provide academic leadership in integrating the Digital Hub and Digital Musicianship into the School’s Education programs. Additionally, the Senior Lecturer will exploit the full potential of the Digital Hub for research and engagement purposes, supporting the recording and production of Non-Traditional Research Outputs (NTROs) from Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students and staff.

Available as either a traditional Teaching and Research, or Education-focused engagement, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of music education and research. You will work with cutting-edge technology in a state-of-the-art recording studio and collaborate with a diverse and talented team of educators, researchers, and musicians. Your contributions will be instrumental in developing innovative educational programs and research initiatives.

About you

Candidates should possess a PhD in Music Technology, Music Composition, Music Performance, or a related field, along with extensive experience in teaching Creative Music Technology at the undergraduate level. A proven track record of academic leadership and innovation in integrating digital technologies into educational programs is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music production, recording, and the use of digital audio workstations, and demonstrate the ability to lead and inspire students and colleagues in a collaborative academic environment.
