The Opportunity

Monash Nursing and Midwifery (MNM) is seeking to appoint a full time Senior Lecturer who shares a passion for research, teaching and engagement that aligns with the School's research and educational objectives, demonstrated through specialised teaching and clinical involvement in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Monash Nursing and Midwifery recognise that education-focused academic staff are an elite cohort dedicated to innovation in learning and teaching. As an Education Focused Senior Lecturer, this roles will play a pivotal role in shaping world-class nursing and midwifery education.

The Senior Lecturer will lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of nursing and midwifery education across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The role includes coordinating units or courses, driving curriculum innovation, and implementing evidence-informed teaching practices. It involves mentoring staff, contributing to cross-faculty initiatives, and engaging in educational scholarship through research and conference presentations. The position also supports academic governance and includes the supervision of 2–4 staff.

Reporting to the Head of School, you will also engage in broad administrative activities and educational leadership at the school, faculty, or university level. We are looking for passionate educator with a strong foundation in nursing or midwifery, a track record of teaching excellence, and a desire to advance education in meaningful and innovative ways. Applicants should possess postgraduate qualifications in nursing or a doctoral qualification in nursing, or equivalent accreditation and standing, along with current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
