The Opportunity
Are you passionate about cardiac perfusion education and research? Monash University invites applications for a Senior Lecturer (Perfusion) to join the Victorian Heart Institute (VHI), a cutting-edge research and education platform embedded within the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH), Australia’s first standalone cardiac hospital.
About the Role:
As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of world-class postgraduate cardiac perfusion education. You will contribute significantly to teaching, research, and professional activities within the Sub-Faculty and the broader VHI community. This role is integral to advancing scholarship and fostering collaborations that drive innovation in perfusion education and clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver curriculum and course materials for clinical perfusion programs
- Lead tutorials, workshops, simulation sessions, and clinical practice education
- Supervise honours and postgraduate research students
- Engage in high-quality research and contribute to professional scholarship
- Foster partnerships and collaborations to achieve novel education outcomes
- Participate in departmental and faculty planning, committee work, and administrative tasks
What We’re Looking For:
- A doctoral or master’s qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent standing
- Proven excellence in developing and delivering perfusion education programs
- Strong clinical practice experience in clinical perfusion
- Demonstrated success in supervising postgraduate research students
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across education and clinical sectors
- A strong record of teaching, research, and professional engagement
