Headquartered at Monash University in Melbourne, with an operational footprint globally, the Maintenance Technology Institute (MTI) is a commercially orientated, professional research and engineering organisation that has been providing professional engineering services to major mining companies such as BHP, Rio Tinto, Glencore, and Anglo American since 2000.

Due to sustained growth, we are now seeking to add your engineering and technical skill to our team in the role of Field Instrumentation Technician NSW. MTI is seeking someone who will be permanently based in NSW in the Hunter Valley Area servicing several of our NSW based clients. • Working closely with clients, contractors and other staff to undertake installation and maintenance activities
  • Provide sound and timely advice and technical services
  • Deploy to remote client mining sites to engage in these and other work activities

Are you a flexible and collaborative individual? Do you  enjoy working both in a team or on your own? Do you have experience in an instrumentation, electrical or mechanical field? Are you good with hand tools? If so, we want to hear from you!

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Ability to work autonomously and at times on remote mine sites
  • Have strong client relationship building skills

  • Work as part of a team fostering a positive “can do” culture with a willingness to assist other organisational departments

Experience in the mining industry, the installation of sensors and cabling or an apprenticeship in a relevant field will be highly regarded, however not essential. We will provide you with on the job training.
