Finance Operations Services is the University's contact point for purchasing and payment needs, from advice and transactions to the delivery of goods. We provide services in Purchasing Services, Accounts Payable, Purchasing Support, Supplier Engagement, assist in managing grant and contract revenues as well as services in Corporate Receivables, Bank Reconciliation and Research Accounting Services. The Opportunity

We are seeking a professional Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team Finance Operations Services and support the Director, (Finance Operations Services) in delivering high-level, professional services and effective achievement of the University’s priorities while leading the team. This will include strategic and operational activities such as the management of the Purchasing Services Team and the six Stores, planning and management of business improvements, analytics and performance reporting, onboarding of new vendors and maintaining and enhancing productive and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in a complex environment.

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for maintaining and leading an area of the highest Occupational, Health and Safety compliance as well as ensuring all Australian regulations and standards are adhered to.

This role will have a focus on delivering the University’s vision and goals for the function, including providing strategic advice to assist the University’s and the Office of the Chief Financial Officer’s leadership team in relevant decision making.

To be considered for this role, you would have proven experience in leading a team within a complex function, outstanding relationship management, excellent planning and organisational skills along with a strong understanding of the Purchasing to Payment life cycle. This will include a relevant postgraduate qualification and extensive experience at senior management level within a complex management environment or similar.
