The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Workplace Relations Specialist to join the Academic Performance & Policy team within Workplace Relations.
In this role, you will provide expert guidance and informed counsel on workplace relations initiatives, strategic projects and cyclical policy reviews that support organisational excellence, compliance, and a positive employee experience.
Working closely with senior academic and professional leaders, you will shape policy, advise on performance frameworks, and contribute to large-scale change initiatives and manage associated web content. Your work will directly influence the University's strategic priorities, ensure alignment with legislative and industrial frameworks, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage strategic workplace relations projects and policy reviews that enhance practices and support Monash’s values
- Lead and influence cross-functional strategic initiatives to ensure legislative and Enterprise Agreement compliance, while supporting Monash’s strategic objectives.
- Provide authoritative advice across all levels of the University on employment law, enterprise agreements, and industrial relations relative to employment policies.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on performance frameworks, change management, and communications.
- Deliver high-quality documentation, briefings, web content and strategic reports tailored to diverse stakeholder groups.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Postgraduate qualifications or extensive relevant experience in workplace relations, employment law, or human resources.
- Expert knowledge of employment and industrial relations legislation including the Fair Work Act and enterprise agreements.
- A proven track record of leading strategic initiatives and policy development in complex organisations.
- Outstanding relationship-building and consulting skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
- Exceptional communication and analytical abilities, with a passion for creating sustainable and innovative solutions.
