The Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering at Monash University is seeking an inspiring and accomplished academic to join our Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering (ECSE) as an Associate Professor. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to world-class education, research, and innovation in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the next generation of engineers. You’ll engage with students through dynamic teaching, mentor future leaders, and collaborate with passionate colleagues to deliver cutting-edge courses. Your expertise will complement our strengths in control systems, wireless technology, signal processing, robotics and AI—driving real-world solutions in electronics, RF, sensors, energy systems, and computing.

You’ll also lead impactful research that addresses global challenges, with the support of a collaborative and inclusive research culture.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings both technical excellence and a passion for empowering others in addition to:

  • Deep expertise in any area of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, including robotics, control systems, wireless technology, biomedical engineering, power systems or signal processing
  • A strong commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching and mentorship
  • A track record of high-impact research with real-world relevance
  • A track record of successful research and/or commercial funding
  • Leadership skills and a collaborative spirit that fosters a positive academic culture
