The Opportunity
Are you a finance professional with a passion for teaching? The Department of Banking & Finance in the Faculty of Business and Economics invites applications for sessional academics to join our dynamic academic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your industry expertise to the education of tomorrow’s finance leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging in teaching activities in Banking and Finance courses
- Develop and update learning materials and incorporate real-world case studies
- Mark and assess student assignments, exams and other coursework in line with established rubrics
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and professional growth
- Maintain academic integrity and uphold the high teaching standards of the Monash Business School
About You!
We are seeking candidates who possess strong academic qualifications in Finance, ideally holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher, combined with recent or current experience in the banking, finance, or broader commercial sector. The ideal applicant will demonstrate the ability to integrate practical industry insights into their teaching practice, enriching the learning experience for our students. Effective communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with a diverse student cohort are essential, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality, student-centred education. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative academic team. Familiarity with digital learning platforms and contemporary teaching tools will be considered an advantage.
