The Opportunity
Monash University is seeking an exceptional leader for the role of Director – Infrastructure Services. This pivotal position will drive the vision, strategy, and delivery of Monash’s core IT infrastructure across networks, cloud, storage, compute, data centres, identity and server services. As a senior leader in the eSolutions team, you will lead the modernisation, security, scalability, availability and performance of the University’s infrastructure platforms, ensuring alignment with Monash’s global operations and strategic ambitions.
This position will be responsible for leading the design, optimisation, and delivery of Monash’s core infrastructure services, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, secure, and future-focused. You will develop and deliver a multi-year roadmap for infrastructure modernisation, scalability and AI-driven optimisation, aligned to Monash’s Impact 2030 strategy and global digital footprint. Building and nurturing high-performing teams will be central to your leadership, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will also drive service optimisation, automation and AI enablement across infrastructure platforms, strengthen platform resilience, security, audit readiness and compliance with national and international standards, and drive effective vendor and stakeholder engagement to maximise value and impact across the Monash Group.
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive leadership experience in enterprise-scale infrastructure services within complex environments. You’ll bring strategic vision, a strong track record in transformation and service delivery, and familiarity with core infrastructure including cloud, networks, virtualisation, data centres, compute, storage, identity and engineering.. Your ability to lead high-performing teams, build trusted stakeholder relationships, and manage commercial partnerships will be critical. Proven success in driving innovation, governance, automation and compliance uplift, will also be essential to success in this position.
