The Opportunity

The Level A Research Fellow is responsible for advancing the research objectives of the University by contributing to defined research projects within the Korean Studies discipline. This position supports the strategic goals of the Monash University Korean Studies Research Hub by actively engaging in scholarly inquiry and enhancing the University’s research capacity in a globally relevant field.

The role provides the opportunity to develop and publish a monograph based on Korean Studies-related PhD research or, if already published, to undertake further research leading to high-quality publications and conference outputs.The position involves active participation in academic events, limited administrative duties, occasional teaching contributions, and engagement with the Monash University Korean Studies Research Hub’s activities and postgraduate student support.

As the successful candidate, you will bring strong analytical abilities and demonstrated expertise in preparing manuscripts for publication, supported by a record of refereed research outputs. They will show a high level of problem-solving capability, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Advanced planning, time management, and written communication skills are essential, along with proven computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software and information management practices.
