The Opportunity
Monash University’s internationally recognised Transfusion Research Unit (TRU) is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Project Officer to lead the delivery of the National Transfusion Dataset (NTD) — Australia’s first integrated national database of blood usage.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact research initiative that informs clinical practice, health policy, and patient outcomes. You’ll manage complex research activities, coordinate hospital engagement, oversee data acquisition, and help shape the future of transfusion medicine in Australia.
Your Role
As Senior Project Officer, you will:
- Lead the operational delivery of the NTD and its related research activities
- Manage hospital recruitment, stakeholder engagement, and project logistics
- Develop protocols, oversee data management, and contribute to publications and presentations
- Provide expert advice and strategic input to support the NTD’s goals
You’ll work closely with clinicians, researchers, and data providers in a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
About You
You are a confident project manager with experience in clinical research, health data, or transfusion medicine. You bring:
- Strong organisational and analytical skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to research excellence
Experience with data linkage, SQL, Python, or AI/NLP tools is desirable but not essential.
