The Opportunity

Monash University is seeking a Senior Research Computing Engineer to deliver expert level technical guidance to researchers in leveraging advanced GPU based high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. This role provides specialised research computing support, bridging technical capabilities with the growing computing needs in the research projects. It includes designing and delivering training, developing comprehensive documentation, and driving best practices that enable reproducibility, efficiency, and computational rigor.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance to researchers throughout their onboarding process to the MAVERIC platform, ensuring a smooth and effective integration experience. Additionally, you will manage and undertake the smooth operation of Linux-based HPC infrastructure, systems and services through scripting and configuration tools, including participating in the resolution of technical issues.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in managing research computing platforms. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering discipline with significant relevant experience; or  extensive experience and management expertise; or  an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
