The Opportunity
Due to sustained growth in student enrolments, the Department of Business Law and Taxation within Monash Business School is seeking three Associate Professors to join our vibrant and expanding team. These positions will play a key role in advancing the Department’s research and teaching profile, contributing to the Faculty’s strategic priorities, and fostering excellence across the discipline. With a focus on developing specialised expertise in digital technology regulation, taxation law, and international trade law, these roles will also strengthen the Department’s engagement with academic, professional, and interdisciplinary communities.
As an Associate Professor, you will provide academic leadership across our undergraduate and postgraduate programs. You will design, develop, and deliver high-quality learning experiences - lectures, tutorials, workshops, practical sessions, and field or studio activities - and coordinate course materials that inspire and challenge students. You will supervise honours, postgraduate, and PhD candidates; conduct original, impactful research leading to high-quality publications and competitive grant success; contribute to collaborative research projects; and actively participate in departmental, faculty, and professional committees.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will bring a strong record of high-quality research publications in International Trade Law, Taxation Law, or Technology Law. You will demonstrate success in securing external research funding, along with proven experience supervising postgraduate research students and contributing to research training programs. You will also show a commitment to teaching excellence across both core and specialist areas and an ability to mentor staff and students effectively. In addition, you will have a proven record of leadership on academic committees and a talent for building productive, collaborative relationships across the University, the profession, and the wider national and international academic community.
