The Opportunity

The Drug Delivery, Disposition and Dynamics Theme is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Officer to join our collaborative team within the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS). In this vital role, you will contribute to advancing world-class research through hands-on support for a diverse range of in vivo and in vitro studies.

You will play an active role in experimental research, including animal handling, substance administration, animal model development, protein expression, tissue processing, cell culture, imaging, and flow cytometry. In addition, you will take responsibility for maintaining laboratory operations, performing general administrative duties, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-organised research environment.

To thrive in this position, you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification and bring proven experience in animal handling and in vivo experimentation, along with proficiency in tissue processing. Exceptional organisational and administrative abilities, coupled with strong attention to detail and the capacity to manage competing priorities, are essential.

Experience with animal models, tissue culture, fluorescence microscopy, and flow cytometry will be highly regarded.

As a key member of the team, the Research Officer will contribute to the Theme’s commitment to research excellence by demonstrating sound scientific judgment, upholding best-practice standards, and providing proactive support and guidance to researchers and PhD students.
