The Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer to contribute to the teaching and learning programs of the Monash MD program, supporting the delivery of Year 3B courses and assessments. This position plays a key role in preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical classes and clinical sessions across adult medicine and surgery. Working closely under the direction of the Year 3B Lead, the role ensures students receive high-quality educational experiences that are aligned with the curriculum and learning objectives.

This position also contributes to the development of course material and collates resources that support student learning, ensuring teaching is relevant, evidence-based and mapped to the Year 3B curriculum. The Lecturer prepares weekly learning templates, undertakes marking and assessment activities and supports ProFESS initiatives, including facilitating meetings with students to enhance their engagement and learning outcomes. Alongside these teaching responsibilities, the position will contribute to research activities that build the evidence base for medical education initiatives and support the ongoing development of best practice pedagogy.

We are seeking someone with a doctoral or master’s qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional standing. Strong teaching and assessment experience in a tertiary environment, experience in curriculum and subject material development and skills in statistical analysis and manuscript preparation are also essential.

If you are excited by the opportunity to contribute to medical education and research in a dynamic and supportive environment, we encourage you to apply and join a team committed to preparing the next generation of medical practitioners.

Travelling to various University campuses may be part of the position, and possessing a valid driver's license is crucial for performing the responsibilities.
