The Opportunity
The Lecturer (Education focused) contributes to the teaching mission of the School of Rural Health through high-quality educational design and delivery. The position supports the biomedical sciences component of the Monash Mildura General Practice Academy medical program in Mildura with a focus on integrating content across the major course themes. Working in close collaboration with Monash Rural Health and the wider Monash MD program the role supports a cohesive end-to-end learning experience aligned with broader program objectives. This is a fixed-term position for three years with funding confirmed until 30 June 2031.
The position will design, deliver and evaluate engaging teaching activities across diverse settings while fostering flexible inclusive and student-centred learning environments. Responsibilities include developing effective assessments, consistent marking and constructive feedback alongside leadership in unit and course development and team teaching. The role uses student feedback to support continuous improvement and contributes to education excellence through scholarly activity supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students and active participation in school faculty and cross-campus initiatives.
We are seeking someone with qualifications or experience recognised by the University for the relevant biomedical science discipline with a doctoral qualification or equivalent research and teaching experience expected. The position also requires experience in the higher education sector and knowledge of the structure and operations of university learning, teaching and research with the ability to motivate and engage students.
