The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate Senior Lecturer in Midwifery to join Monash Nursing and Midwifery and contribute to excellence in teaching and research across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The role provides academic leadership in the design, delivery and evaluation of high-quality midwifery education within a collaborative and committed academic team and supports the School’s mission through teaching, scholarship, research and professional service.
The Senior Lecturer (Midwifery) will focus on curriculum leadership and innovation across pre- and post-registration midwifery programs. The role includes leading unit and course development, coordinating teaching teams, assessment and student consultation and contributing to strategic and operational planning. It works across campuses and faculties where relevant, builds teaching capability, supervises higher degree research students, mentors junior staff and contributes to a strong research culture through research activity, publication and competitive funding.
We are seeking someone with advanced qualifications in midwifery, including a doctoral qualification or equivalent standing and current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. It also calls for demonstrated excellence in higher education teaching informed by strong clinical practice alongside well-developed knowledge and skills in curriculum design, academic leadership, research supervision and scholarly publication.
