The Opportunity
The Department of General Practice is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Practice) to shape the future of healthcare education by developing innovative curriculum and teaching practices that foster a transformative, hands-on learning environment. Drawing on your expertise and experience as a general practitioner, you will design courses and assessments that equip students with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in a global healthcare landscape. In this role, your contributions will directly enhance the Faculty's programs, preparing graduates to meet the diverse and evolving needs of communities with confidence and practical insight.
This role is essential to advancing the University’s commitment to professional and industry-focused learning, playing a pivotal part in guiding and mentoring students through their general practice rotations. You will support students' academic journeys and well-being as they transition into real-world practice. Collaborating with professional bodies and government organisations, you will build networks that promote Faculty initiatives, enhance student engagement and create opportunities for practical work experiences that enrich their academic learning.
We seek candidates with advanced degrees in clinical medicine or public health, current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (or an equivalent specialist qualification). Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues and the broader medical community are essential. Your clinical experience, whether in community-based or hospital settings, will provide invaluable insights that enhance curriculum development and teaching.
Join us to make a meaningful impact on the next generation of healthcare professionals and to contribute to a vibrant academic community committed to excellence in healthcare education. Apply now to be part of this transformative journey.
