The Opportunity

The Group Manager, Operations and Planning is responsible for providing strategic leadership across the Faculty, driving initiatives that support long-term goals and operational excellence. This role ensures alignment between complex projects, resource allocation, and the Faculty’s priorities, working closely with the Dean, Faculty General Manager, and Executive team to advance the Faculty’s strategic objectives and deliver coordinated, high-impact outcomes.

The role provides leadership in managing the Faculty’s strategic and operational activities. You will lead planning processes, monitor KPIs, oversee risk and compliance, and ensure effective resource allocation across departments and portfolios. You will prepare high-level reports, manage key projects, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the Faculty’s strategic priorities.

About You

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Think strategically and contribute at an executive level while remaining hands-on with operational issues when needed;
  • Be a steady leader working with diverse groups, building trust and staying calm under pressure;
  • Work with data and systems, whilst having an openness to using AI to improve processes and support business performance, load planning and key systems and inspire teams to engage in continuous improvement practices;
  • Ensure strong governance and planning through a focus on compliance and reporting whilst not compromising on effectiveness;
  • Multi-task and manage multiple competing priorities, with the agility to pivot as required whilst maintaining deliverables; and
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior leaders both in the academic and professional space and adapt to circumstances as required.
