The Role

Join the dedicated Employee Relations & WHS Team at ABC in Sydney!

ABC is seeking a highly motivated person with the ability to multitask, to join our WHS Team base in Ultimo Sydney as a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator. This is an ongoing full-time position for a safety minded person who understands the importance of providing robust advice to stakeholders and providing support to the broader WHS team. 
As the WHS Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees nationally. You will be involved in developing, implementing, and maintaining WHS policies, procedures, and programs that align with legislative requirements and industry best practices

The Role

  • Supporting the management of safety activities of the WHS team.
  • Conducting risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and recommend risk mitigation measures.
  • Providing training and education to employees on health, safety, and wellness topics, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
  • Assisting in investigations of workplace incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintaining accurate records and prepare reports on health and safety metrics using Microsoft office apps.
  • Staying up to date with changes in relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Assisting in conducting site inspections and provide feedback and recommendation to management to ensure compliance with safety standards

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you must possess a minimum of Cert III or IV qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or similar qualifications along with relevant experience as a WHS Coordinator in a multifaceted organisation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
