The Role
Do you have a love of radio and the technical skills to match? We are looking for a content maker who can combine their editorial skills with their technical expertise. In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating radio studio equipment for the ABC Radio Melbourne Drive program but you’ll also get to use your creative flair and eye for a good story.

The successful candidate will:
- Create content for multiple platforms to engage local and national audiences.
- Operate radio studio equipment for broadcasting to ensure seamless continuity of programs.
- Contribute regularly to planning and commissioning processes to develop and distribute new content ideas to achieve strong reach and engagement with audiences.
- Create local content that can be shared with other content teams across the ABC.
- Have creative ideas for injecting colour and creating dynamic radio.
About You
You have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience in audio and cross-platform content making. In order to get up to speed quickly in the role, you have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
- Accomplished program making skills with a proven ability to develop and make original and engaging audio and cross-platform content for target audience.
- Accomplished editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise sound judgement.
- Sound knowledge and skills working with audio editing software, digital tools and live to air studio operation. Ability to use all software and hardware relevant to this role, as well as being aware of emerging technologies. Proven ability to work effectively as an integral and positive member of a team
